Why did my Upwork job alerts stop? Check these six things
Most often the plan, a missing recent proposal or your phone. Each takes a minute to check.
Where to change it: Bell icon → Job alerts → Alert preferences
- No alerts at all
- The free Basic plan has no instant job alerts. They come with Freelancer Plus, $19.99 a month.
- Alerts thinned out or stopped
- Alerts follow jobs you've sent proposals to. You need at least one proposal on an active job; when those jobs close, alerts dry up.
- Applying as an agency
- Only proposals you send as an individual count. Proposals sent through an agency don't start alerts.
- Saved search sends nothing
- Saved searches are filters saved to your job feed. You open them yourself; they don't send alerts.
- Email works, phone doesn't
- Allow notifications for the Upwork app in your phone settings. Battery savers and cleaner apps can block them.
- Nothing in your inbox
- Look in your spam and promotions folders, and check that Freelancer Plus is still active under Membership plan.
